I have fallen head over heals in love with the young Greek Designer Mary Kantrantzou's spectacular prints.
Educated in the U.S., Kantrantzou completed both a Bachelor and Master's Degree in Art and Design. Her first collection debuted in London for Spring 2009. Her prints are inspired by luxury items; jewels, art, blown glass and 18th century Society portraits.
In 2011, she was award the British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent and in 2012 was chosen Young Designer of the Year at the Elle Fashion Awards.
Mary Kantrantzou's designs are currently sold at some of the finest retailers in the world. I am crossing my fingers that Richards/Mitchells, (where I am their Personal Shopper in Greenwich), buys MK going forward. I have suggested it and she is definitely on their radar.
Mary's future success seems ordained at this point. There are only a handful of designers who are print masters; Pucci, Etro, Hermes, Cavalli to name a few.
And now, Mary Kantrantzou gets to play with the Big Boys. Way to go...
