Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade
8 shades $18
My brow fixation continues...I've come to believe, brows, not the eyes, are the window to my soul. I feel absolutely naked without a finished brow and it's the starting point of my makeup after BB cream or foundation.
Anastasia Beverly Hills definitely produces the best brow products on the market. I have used both her Brow Gel and Brow Wiz pencils; both excellent.
I decided to tip into her Dipbrow Pomade after admiring them at Ulta. There are 8 shades and find your best match can be a bit tricky, so I asked for advice. Naturally, the shade we decided on, medium brown, was sold out.

Two Great Products from Exuviance; Day Repair and Night Lift
$113 together- a $34 Savings
My love affair with Exuviance Age Reverse continues...particularly their Day Repair cream. Yes... I know I should be using moisturizer with some serious SPF daily, but I loathe the chalky residue and heavy texture of the many I have tried.
Exuviance Age Reverse Day Repair is in a class by itself. For starters it smell delicious. It has a creamy, gel like consistency that leaves my skin completely hydrated and dewy looking...It's hard to believe there is SPF 30 in there, but I'll take it face value and I'm grateful for it.
And I'm not the only one who thinks its terrific. Good Housekeeping awarded Exuviance Age Reverse Day Repair as one of their 2014 Beauty All-Star Award winners.
It's a goodie...

What The Zell Happened to Renee???
Renee Zellweger (right) Renee Zellweger (left)
Can we tawk???
Last December, I posted a blog about the radical change in Renee Zellweger's appearance. Far from a classic beauty, Renee had a unique look that was borderline adorable. She also has a slamming bod, and wears clothes as well as any runway mannequin. Put it all together, and her look charmed more often than not.
Why did she feel the need to reconfigure her face, (rumored to be in the image of Jennifer Lawrence and actress nearly half her age.) Perhaps it the pressure of approaching middle age in Hollywood, where younger talent is continually up and coming.

Nyakio ABC African Beauty Cream
Nyakio ABC African Beauty Cream
$39- Available in 5 shades
There's a new beauty cream launching this month and it's not a BB or a CC but an ABC; Nyakio's African Beauty Cream.
Nyakio's brand founder and namesake, is Nyakio Kamoche Greico. Nyakio, is a first generation American of Kenyan descent, whose family included medicine men, farmers and educators.
The brand pays homage to her families heritage and her passion to bring the best of natural African ingredients with highly effective skincare, to women of all skin types and ethnicities.
I am already a fan of Nyakio's Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub, so when my friends at Kaplow PR asked me if I was interested in having a sneek peak at ABC African Beauty Cream, I happily complied.

It No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner
It No Tug Gel Eyeliner
10 Shades $22
Why am I always in pursuit? I wish I could answer.... Just last week, I took pride in being able to successfully wield Smashbox Limitless Liquid Eye Liner, without a 10 Q-tip clean up. Why was I still hankering for yet another liner?
I think partly because I have always liked gel eyeliners, just not the pot and brush that come with them. Here I was eyeball to eyeball with a gel pencil. How could I possibly resist buying it?

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick
22 Shades $22
Oh, this was a happy find...I normally don't shop at Ulta, not because I don't appreciate this high brow, low brow cosmetics mega store. It's just less convenient to get to.
The first thing that caught my eye about Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick, was the display of pretty, wearable colors, from nudes to brights. The difference between some of the shades was just a nuance of depth. Be still my heart...4 rosy nudes in one collection? Spectacular. I almost threw a dart, but I'm happy I chose "Rush".
It's perfect. But that's not the only thing that's impressive...

It's time to shake up your makeup routine with these on-trend shades
This is a TotalBeauty.com Makeup article
Fall may be in full swing, but that doesn't mean you have to give up colorful makeup. This fall, it's all about ditching your neutral makeup colors for moody, rich shades that complement your skin tone.

Be a Glow Getter: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
6 Shades (Radiant Light pictured above)
I've never been a powder fan...When you work as hard as I do to achieve glowing skin, it just feels counter-intuitive to finish with powder, no matter how finely milled.
I have long been aware of the cult following for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. Lalalalalalalalala...I blocked out the chatter...but then I saw them at Sephora and in an instant, knew the likelihood of my leaving without one was nil. One swipe and I was a goner.
Rather then looking matte and dull, my skin appeared to look lit from within, imperfections blurred, less flawed. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder comes in 6 shades, each created for a specific skin type. Radiant Light, which casts a golden glow, was right for me. Here are the details:

Exuviance Perfomance Peel AP
Exuviance Performance Peel AP
Available at Ulta stores and Ulta.com
Exuviance is turning out to be one of my favorite anti-aging skincare lines. I have already written glowingly about their Age Reversing Neck Cream, (which has done nothing to harm my knees either).
I love peels, and when my friends at Melissa Kelz PR told me that Exuviance Performance Peel AP could produce dramatically good at home results, simply, and in just 6 weeks, I let them twist my arm into sampling it...

On the Fringe...
Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer
Tarte Smoothing Primer
Is it too much to wish that someone in the cosmetics industry could develop face Spackle??? My dream product would gracefully fill in fine lines and then be smoothly covered with foundation or a good BB cream. How does that sound to you?
My internet search was fruitless, though I did discover that Dr. Andrew Ordon of TV's The Doctors fame did create a product that temporarily fills out fine lines. It is not so much a filler as an inflammation; reviewers reported swelling from allergic reactions. With my luck, I'd go into anaphylactic shock, and my throat would close...Literally, I would, "die in vain".
So, my search continued to Sephora, where I was attracted to the Tarte display, that included a split photo of an average looking woman. One side showed her "before" Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer and the other, the "after".
Impressive...OK, so it doesn't fill, but I will settle for the 91% reported "blur"

18 Years and Counting....
It's National Brow Day
Did you know today is National Brow Day? From Wink Brow Bar to Smashbox, today is a wonderful day to celebrate this wonderful feature with two of the most famous brows – Audrey and Elizabeth!
Their impeccable and lush brows further prove that this trend is here to stay, so lets look at the past to predict the future, as 2014 and now 2015 are definitely going to be the brow years to look forward to, from young ingenues like Lily Collins to Ashley Olsen.
What’s the modern way of shaping and filling in brows to create this lush effect? Look no further than threading, especially such as the West Village’s Wink Brow Bar, which specializes in organic threading. Anti-inflammatory and best for both shaping and growing a lusher set, read below for owner Umbreen Sheikh’s tips and tricks:
