One to Skip: Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner
$24
I can't remember this much hype about an arrival, since the Royal baby...Based on the overwhelming success of their best selling They're Real Mascara, (a product I have had an on again, off again love affair with, mostly off, since I love the look but loathe trying to remove it) there was a pent up demand for They're Real Push Up Liner even before it hit the shelves.

Naturally I was curious...I love gels but I hate the pots that contain them and always having to track down the right brush to apply them with. The payoff is that they tend to be long wearing, but even on the best day, they still require a dexterous hand to apply it well.

They're Real Push Up Liner sounded like it would be a fantastic compromise. The unique soft "Accuflex" tip is, "custom-angled to draw a matte black, easy line. The flat, wide guard, gently pushes lashes aside to get close to the lash line."

Gimme...

The reality is that They're Real Push Up Liner is a bit of a mess. The formula dries instantly-- particularly not a good thing for a novice user.  There is no backtracking here...any attempt at a quick fix resulted in a smudges and flakes. Practice did not make perfect...

When I brought it back to return to Sephora, my peeps confided in me that they have been coming back in droves.  The reviews from other bloggers and online reviewers support my own findings.

I'm thrilled that someone tried to solve the gel and liner in one contraption conundrum.  I hope it will spawn better, (and cheaper) imitations.

In the meanwhile Benefit, back to the drawing board for you...

  1. Wow, good to know. PureWOW NY just recommended this product as the answer to solve all eye liner problems. Your review is much more enlightening. Thanks.

  2. Thanks for the review, I am an Avon rep so most if not all of my cosmetics are purchased from them and I haven't been disappointed yet. Have a wonderful week.

  3. Dear Maryl and Antoinette,
Thanks for commenting. I wish it was the Holy Grail combo gel and built in liner I was looking for. No doubt, it will spawn the imitators Im hoping for, hopefully, easier to apply with a less drying formula!
