L'Oreal Infallible Gel Eyeliner: A small wonder

L'Oreal Infallible Gel Eyeliner
$10.99

After all these years, I'm still of student of my own face...Recently, I was back on the hunt for a Holy Grail liner, realizing that I lacked one for my DivaDebbi 2013 Best of Beauty Blog.  Despite any desire to create a more nuanced eye, the truth is I look tired without defined liner. Even when my makeup is applied professionally, they are not using less liner; just blending it better.

I reviewed L'Oreal Infallible Gel Eyeliner last year, when I was looking to avoid looking like Mariska Hargitay. Don't get me wrong, I think she is drop dead beautiful, but I also think she needs to lighten up at this point. Do you agree?

Mariska Hargitay

I absolutely LOVE the texture of this creamy, easy to apply gel and the perfect thin lining brush that comes with, making it a snap to apply. I do suggest blotting some off with a tissue, since the product is dense, to avoid Mariska eye.

Where I erred was with the shade I chose.  There are five; black, brown, navy, slate and bronze.  In my effort to soften up from black, I chose the slate and though this is supposed to be a long wearing "24 hour" product, I found it faded, so by 4:00, I looked unlined and nap ready.

I also wanted to get back to a bit more drugstore beauty for my blog reviews, so I picked up L'Oreal Infallible Gel Eyeliner again, but this time purchased it in brown.

Eureka!

It couldn't be more perfect! Softer than black, rich and gloss, it creates a clean, elegant line that can easily be made thicker or winged.

I am in love.

I have been a devotee of Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner, over the years, going back to it many times.  This L'Oreal Infallible is much easier to apply.  It also doesn't require the additional expense of purchasing her brush, which is thicker and more difficult to manipulate.

All in all, an absolute winner...just choose your shade wisely. For sure, you will be seeing it on the DivaDebbi Best of 2014 List.

  1. I had bought a gel eyeliner brush a while back but never tried a gel liner. I thought it would produce a harsh line and couldn't be softened for a smoother look. Guess that's not the case with L'Oreal. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

  2. It's such a good one Maryl and a cinch to apply! Much softer looking than liquid liner!
I hope you like it. Thanks for commenting.
