Blow Dryers etc...

Revlon One Step Hair Dryer

Often what sparked my interest in purchasing and writing about new products, was the 911 I would receive from one of my Gal Pal"s, who had just tried something fabulous.  I recently received a call from dear friend Linda Levy, who received Revlon's One Step Volumizing Hair Dryer as a gift...Did I know about it???

Of course dear Linda! I had blogged about it back in 2017.  Shortly after I did, Allure also discovered how amazing this inexpensive, fast working dryer could replicate sleek locks that almost looked salon created. It literally almost broke the Internet....  My issue with it was that it almost made my hair too sleek.  I have since learned to manually spin the brush around my roots to create some lift.

Which brings me during the pandemic, to my goodie closet, which embarrassingly houses 4 blow dryers plus the Revlon One Step, Con-Airs Infinity Pro Styling Brush, 2 heat styling brushes, 2 flat irons, two texturizing irons and one ionic smoother. UGGGHHHH!

I'm strictly in simplify mode right now, (and hopefully, you are doing as I blogged about previously, and deep conditioning for several hours before washing your hair). Tonight will make #5 and I'm pleased to say I have significantly improved the state of my previous parched locks in the process.

Hair Masques 102

Long ago, I wrote about my roundabout, for deep conditioning my hair.  If you read the directions of any hair masque, it usually entails washing you hair, getting out of the shower, shivering in a damp state for 5-10 minutes and then hopping back in to wash it out...

Um.  No thanks.

I am now on my third self wash and dry at home, post non-essential closing of my second home, Hott Blow DryWhat I have been doing for a few hours pre-wash, is slathering on a L'Oreal masque, (that had been collecting dust in a beauty bin in my linen closet, 1 of 3).  I then shampoo as usual and use a teeny bit of conditioner in the shower.

Let me tell you Lovelies, that my parched, neglected tresses are loving this.  My hair doesn't just look good post wash, but feels great to the touch for days in between washes.

I don't think it matters one bit, which one you use, so if you have nothing in the house, your regular conditioner will probably do, until something can be delivered by Amazon, (please do wear gloves when opening all packages).

Your hair will be happy!

Stay well,

xox,

Back in the Beauty Trenches

Hello Lovelies,
As we chart these uncharted times, first and foremost, I hope you and your family are well. I liken the Coronavirus to the Spanish Flu of 1918, 911 and the economic crisis of 2008 x 10 all rolled into one. It's a lot to process...

I know we will get to the other side, but it won't be without  the loss of many lives and a very long haul back for businesses and normalcy, all over the world.  I am utterly awed by the selflessness of our medical professionals, who are risking their own health, everyday to protect us.  They are heroes, one and all.  I am also grateful to all the "essential" workers who are manning the businesses that we need for food pharmacy needs, gas, deliveries and other services.  Thank you! The National Guard has been called in as well, and their service is also hugely appreciated by myself and a grateful nation.

On a lighter note, my partner and I are working behind the scenes to manage our beautiful retail store Mary Jane Denzer at the Ritz Carlton in White Plains.  In the beginning of the year, we launched our new website, which we feel represents our aesthetic perfectly.  I invite you to take a peek!

Since I will have some extra time on my hands, I thought it would be great to go back to writing my blog DivaDebra,  as we navigate life without professional manicures, color, blowouts, haircuts, facials, dermaplaning, spray tans, workouts Botox and all the other things that have become the norm in our beauty maintenance. I often joke that it, "takes a village" to keep us looking our best and the joke is, is that it's no joke...it really does!

And now we are on our own!!!  I'm sure many of you have seen the cartoon below on social media and Sisters, it is, so!!!

So, most importantly, I want to share with you what I think is an incredible product, Revlon's ROOT ERASE  I have used all the root touch up kits available in between monthly professional coloring, with the wonderfully talented Chantale, owner of Salon Chantale, and can tell you hands down, it's the best.
