Review: Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers

Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers
5 shades $24.99

I am a Beautystat.com member and reviewer.  If you are not familiar with Beautystat.com and enjoy reading and commenting on product reviews Beautystat   is a font of information, in fact, it is the leading beauty community on Facebook and the web.

Reviewers like me, are always encouraged to review products in an completely unbiased and honest manner, which I appreciate.

Though I am blessed with thick hair, I have started to notice a slight thinning in the front of my part. Viviscal is a company primarily known for their hair care line which produces vitamin supplements, serum, shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair.  The product I asked to review is Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers.  It piqued my curiosity because I had never heard of anything else like it.

Created specifically for men and women with thinning hair,Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers contain, "mircroscopic electrostatically charged fibers which stick to hair and create a volumizing appearance".

I sometimes use a spritch of Gray Away, a temporary hair color spray intended to cover new hair growth at the roots on the front of my part.  It effectively covers the area that appears thinning only to me.

One of my readers recently pointed out, to my horror, that the chief ingredient in Gray Away is butane.  I joked in response that I would probably continue using it, just not while barbecuing.  In the meanwhile, I haven't felt particular good about using Gray Away, (or any of the root touch-up sprays, including Rita Hazan's and Style Edit's Root Concealer) knowing that I am spraying a flammable gas on my porous scalp.

I was anxious to see if Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers might be a good substitute.  Viviscal comes in 5 shades and I thought, correctly, that the light brown would be the best match for my hair color.

It couldn't be easier to use...simply tap a small amount on to the spot that you would like to cover.  It took several applications to achieve the same amount of coverage as a spray, but I felt a lot better about using, Hydrolyzed Corn, Soy and Wheat protein on my scalp than butane.

People with larger areas to cover, would also benefit from the fibers ability to add some fullness. I didn't particularly love getting my hands dirty, but it the fibers wash off easily and stayed put without flaking. It is also definitely effective for covering grey...an added bonus.

It's a clever product.  Here is a little more information as well as a coupon:

Size: 15 grams (approximately one month supply)
Price: $24.99

For those who truly suffer with thinning hair, I think it's definitely worth trying...

xox,
DD
