Review: CeraVe AM and CeraVe PM Lotions

Both approximately $12.99

I recently reviewed a fabulous anti-aging body cream, CeraVe Renewing SA Cream.  They SA stands for salicylic acid, and as soon as I saw it was a key ingredient, I agreed to sample it.

I am absolutely thrilled with it.  It literally melts into your skin and deeply hydrates it.  After over 3 weeks of using it, my skin honestly looks plumper and more hydrated.

Though I am hopelessly devoted to La Peau Skincare, I am mindful that it is not inexpensive and may not be in the budget of all my readers. I was so enamored with CeraVe's Renewing SA Cream, I asked them if I could try their Facial Moisturizing Lotions, AM and PM and nicely, I received them this week.

I am always reticent about daytime moisturizers that contain SPF 30 or higher. It's not that I don't see the merit of using them. Some formulations however are so thick and zinc laden, that I end up looking like a Geisha--Not so with CeraVe's AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion, in fact, it left my skin with a lovely glow. I promptly slathered my hands with it.

That night I used the PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.  I like the consistency; neither too thin or thick.  I did feel that I wanted to add additional moisture around my eyes, and added my La Peau Eye Cream.

CeraVe's website is under construction, so I found the product description on Drugstore.com.  I thought it was interesting that the only difference between the AM and PM creams is the SPF 30--Otherwise, they are identical.

Here is how "they" are described:

Helps repair, restore, and maintain protective skin barrier
  • Ceramides
  • Niacinamide
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Controlled Release
  • Non comedogenic
CeraVe® Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM helps repair damaged skin and maintain the skin's natural protective function with ingredients not commonly found in other moisturizers.  Its patented Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE®) technology releases theses ingredients over time, penetrating deep into the skin to hydrate and nourish.
Repair - Restore - Maintain
  • Ceramides - Helps reduce lipid levels in damaged skin to repair, restore, and maintain the skin's natural barrier.  Essential in preventing water loss from the skin
  • Niacinamide - Helps the skin produce more natural ceramides and fatty acids essential for repairing and restoring the skin barrier.  Also shown to reduce redness.
  • Hyaluronic Acid - An essential ingredient (humectant) that attracts water to the top layer of the skin and ensures that the skin remains hydrated.
Developed with dermatologists.

Just like CeraVe's Renewing SA Cream, I think their AM and PM Facial Moisturizing Lotions are high quality products, packed with ingredients that are featured in products at 10 times their cost.

Impressive and a bargain to boot...I highly recommend them.

  1. I used to use Cetaphil but then a new dermatologist recommended me to Cerave. I've never tried their daily AM moisturizers though and would love to try it now!
