Gwen is one rocking Lady...
I love Gwen Stefani's style. I genuinely appreciate a pop stars that like to look pretty. Try as I might, this whole GaGa thing completely eludes me.
It most be exhausting to live your life in costume.
I thought this dress looked absolutely stunning on Gwen, so I created this Polyvore set and completed her ensemble.

Carole Radziwill is one cool, chic chick!
This is my second entry in the Real Housewives contest on Polyvore that I have created. This is not a makeover, like the one I did for Ramona Singer, this one is in homage to Carole Radziwill, who strikes me as one cool chickadee.
Carole joined RHONY this season and she has breathed new life into what was becoming a stale ensemble. She is a true downtown Girl. Carole is smart, irreverent, insightful, fun, relaxed, whippet thin and chic.
Put another way, she is the complete opposite of the rest of the cast. One can only hope she renews her contract...surely Bravo would never let this jewel slip from their grasp. Carole is the real deal. I would break bread (and wine) with her anywhere, anytime.

Fall Trends 2012: Makeup
I have been savoring and digesting the fall tomes. I am half way through guts of the Fall 2012 trends in beauty, ready-to-wear and accessories. It's not nearly as overwhelming when your realize that literally hundreds of pages are advertising.
I have no qualm with that really. The publishing industry has struggled as more and more eyeballs continue to read their glossies digitally (and save a tree or three in the process). I'm all for successful rebounds and truth be told, even if you never read any content, the consistency of the trends would resonate, just by the ads alone.
In any given season, the worlds of clothing, hair and makeup compliment each other. Designers don't design in a vacuum. They collaborate with the best in the industry to enhance their visions. We then get see the finished "product" on the runway, in live streamed videos and print.
Here's the thing about any trend, if it doesn't suit you to wear a brocade, sapphire nails or full bangs, by all means don't. You will only feel like a poser. Stick with what feels like you in and on your skin. It will never fail you because you will radiate confidence.
I always love Fall clothes best...who doesn't?, but this season is particularly luscious...
For the first time, in several seasons, there is truly something for everyone, both in silhouette, hue and palette. Here is a round up of this seasons makeup trends. I'll let you know if I'm in,out or trying:

Spring Has Sprung...Again
What recession??? I think we have turned a corner Girls, not just with the luxury consumers, (who are my scones and clotted cream), but according to yesterdays reports on March retail results, across all sectors. Yippee!!! I just wish my feet were happier about it...what a week!
I am late in reporting Spring trends this year, (particularly since I am now focused on Fall trunk shows). This season just seemed at tad rinse and repeat to me. For example:
Do you really need to hear that nautical striped tee's and tanks are a must with shorts and cropped pants? Or that florals are blooming all over the dress market? Trench coats? How novel. Animal prints? Metallics? Safari influences? Short of bonnets and gloves has much of anything changed for Spring in the last 50 years???
What is looking fresh are the amazing shoes!!! For the first time since 7th grade, when I towered over most of my boyfriends, I actually wish I was shorter than 5'7. The heels on platforms, wedges and clogs are staggeringly high, but fantastically whimsical and look great with everything for day. For evening, wrapped and laced up versions look divine with cut-out LBD's.
The influence of the palette and silhouettes of Brunello Cucinelli are everywhere, (see photo above). His elegant, casual Italian sportswear is extending its reach into every price point of the market, (which is a very good thing, if you are not the type to pay $650 for the perfect cotton tank top). I am gravitating to more relaxed silhouettes in shades of smoke, bark, taupe, khaki and ivory all tossed together and shuhzzed up with a pop of something metallic or Lucite.
I am thrilled that the handbag designers have heard our cry; We are not interested, in carrying a bag that can accommodate a matched set of clubs. We also prefer our hardware and logos discreet and weighing far less that a set of dumbbells. I guess the consumer finally hit them right in the pocketbook...there are fabulous choices out there this year.
I haven't take the coral lip plunge yet, but it is looking fresh and new. In fact, if your wallet still hasn't sprung back this Spring, you can do what women have always done...buy yourself a new lipstick. Yves St. Laurent's Tangy Orange looks particularly tasty. Pair it with a big smile and any of the re-treads trends I mentioned and you will be the picture of fashion...
