ReVive Glycolic Renewal Peel $295 |
Oh this is a magnificent product!
ReVive has been on my radar for quite some time. I frequently receive press information from their PR peeps. It is always my preference to experience products personally rather than post press releases.
ReVive is expensive and they choose not to supply samples. Big Mistake.
I happened to be in Rye, NY last weekend, a neighboring town. I was delighted to happen upon Bluemercury. Somehow, this fast growing chain of luxury skincare and makeup with on site spa facilities was unknown to me.
Founded in 1999 by Marla Beck, an enterprising entrepreneur who saw the need to create a friendly environment, where all beauty needs could be met under one roof, they have now blossomed to over 40 doors in the U.S.

Marla favors some of my favorite makeup lines exclusively like Nars, Trish McEvoy, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier. Skincare has much more depth, with shelf space dedicated to ReVive, Dermalogica, La Mer, Darphin, Clarins and many more including brands like Acqua Di Parma and Molton Brown for Men. They also have a lovely selection of products by Nest and Diptyque, perfect for gift giving.
It was close to closing, but still, bustling with clients and an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff, including my former colleague Caroline McKee, the manager and lead aesthetician, a lovely surprise.
I told her I had always wanted to try ReVive, but never had the opportunity. She generously loaded me on with goodies, including two samples of ReVive's cult favorite Glycolic Renewal Peel as well as peel samples from Marla Beck's own line, M-61
ReVive was founded by Dr. Gregory Bays Brown, a Harvard-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Brown had dedicated much of his early career to researching ways to accelerate the healing for burn victims. He also realized that one of the bio-engineered molecules he discovered to heal burns was extremely effective at regenerating healthy skin, thus ReVive, a star was born.
This is a long post, but ReVive Glycolic Renewal Peel deserves it's back story. It also couldn't be easier to use. I simply applied the pre- moistened prep pad to my thoroughly cleansed skin and then applied the glycolic peel to my fingertips, gently rubbing it on my face and neck. 5 minutes later I rinsed it off with cool water. I experienced none of the stinging or burning I have with other glycolic products.
As soon as I patted my face dry, I was blown away by the immediate glow and baby soft feel. In the morning, I was still glowing and my skin appeared poreless.
My makeup applied flawlessly.
In short, WOW.
Best used once a week, one 2 step set, could last about eight months. Expensive, yes, but a game changer.
