Buxom Nude Lip Foundation

Buxom Nude Lip Foundation
$19

I finally finished Andrea Q. Robinson's book "Toss the Gloss".  I wrote my preliminary review a few weeks back. (http://divadebbi.blogspot.com/2014/04/book-review-toss-gloss.html).

Had I purchased it in paperback, my copy would be dogeared.  Instead I opted to receive it more quickly by downloading to my Kindle.  Though I "bookmarked" dozens of pages of her product suggestions, nicely offering them at both class and mass price points, I had no clue if I would ever be able to retrieve them...fortunately it was easier than I thought.

One of Ms. Robinson's pet peeves is lipstick shades. Forget red, this is a woman who doesn't even like rosy passed a certain age. Back in the day, when she was President of Ultima II, she was the one who introduced us to "The Nudes", one of the most successful cosmetic launches of all times.

She firmly believes this is the right course for a more youthful appearing mouth.
I am a huge believer in the power of relying on your closest  Gal Pal's for the unvarnished truth.

RoC Rocks!

When it comes to respected leaders in anti-aging beauty RoC Skincare, delivers visible results  affordably -- no wonder it is beloved by women the world over.

One of the first skincare lines to incorporate Retinol, the long proven wrinkle fighter,  RoC Skincare is frequently sited as a favorite by experts and Dermatologists.

I recently wrote about former beauty executive Andrea Q. Robinson's new book  Toss the Gloss (http://divadebbi.blogspot.com/2014/04/book-review-toss-gloss.html.  She too recommends RoC, siting  RoC Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Serum as a highly effective anti-aging tool for your arsenal. I love it too and frequently slather it on my face, neck, chest and hands.

Book Review: Toss the Gloss

Toss the Gloss by Andrea Q. Robinson
Adorably illustrated by Chelsea McLaren

Oh, this is a fun and informative read!  Originally, I pre-ordered Toss the Gloss through Amazon. When I realized the book version won't be out until mid May, I couldn't wait, so I had it whisked to my Kindle instead.

I might have erred, because this is a tome you will highlight and dog ear with turned back pages. I've bookmarked my Kindle version, but I'm not sure if there is an abridged way to pull them all back up... and there are plenty. BTW, I'm only 46% through.

Ms. Robinson has had a most illustrious career in the beauty industry, rising from a beauty editor at Vogue to the President of Ultima II, (she created, "The Nakeds" presaging Bobbi Brown by well over a decade), Chief Marketing Officer of Estee Lauder and President of both Ralph Lauren Fragances and Tom Ford Beauty.

It's pithy and brutally honest. No doubt the fur is flying behind closed doors as she spills the truth about the industry.   Certain things that you will learn you can't unlearn; like the fact that the cosmetic giants that own multiple brands only invest in one set of chemists. Thus the breakthrough ingredient in a LancĂ´me skincare blockbuster (like Genefique) might later be used but remarketed in a "new" launch from L'Oreal,  ie. the much less pricey Youth Code. Sure we all knew they shared the mascara lab, but even I hadn't made the leap to skincare.

Oh and ouch.
