Review: Travalo Refillable Perfume Atomizer

Travelo Refillable Perfume Atomizer
Price Varies from $9.99 to $19.99. Google!

I adore perfume and would no more consider leaving the house without it on then I would my panties.  The trouble is, no matter how fine the fragrance, and my current love Diana Vreeland's Devastatingly Chic is way up there, nothing lasts on me.

This brought me to the conundrum of finding an atomizer that actually worked, without my precious perfume dissipating into thin air...who needs a devastatingly chic smelling handbag?  Not me...  I have purchased several purse refill atomizers from Sephora, one from CVS and a lovely looking finely cut crystal one on from Amazon. Same gig, everytime.

My blogging juju aligned nicely with a reach out from the team at 3D Sales & Marketing who wanted to know if I was interested in trying Travalo's, all aluminum, TSA approved, leak proof refillable atomizer, with a patented Genie-S pump system that guarantees no air exposure.

Review: Tarte's Eyelash Curler

Tarte's Picture Perfect Duo
Eyelash Curler and  Lights, Camera Lashes Mascara
$18

Do you really need another eyelash curler???  I'm afraid so.. After retiring my "must have" Shu Uemura
eyelash curler, I purchased one from Space NK, that was just OK, but truly, is one really better than other?

Definitively, yes and Tarte's is the one. This ergonomically-designed eyelash curler has an easy grip silicone padded handle, that allows for lashes to be curled evenly.  Because the angle is curved, it has a wider mouth that works for all eye shapes without crimping or pinching,  Your lashes will look longer and be curled in mere seconds instead of multiple squeezes or 30 second holds. I also loved how it fully revived my lashes at the end of the day, when I was refreshing my makeup to go out. Bam!!!

Nicely, it is also packaged with a small sample of their bestselling Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara a good, but not great mascara. No gripes...I'm thinking of it has a freebie.

This is the best $18 you will have spent in awhile and the best part is, you get to wear your pretty lashes every, single day.

And you're very welcome...

xox,
DD

Flashback Friday: Trish McEvoy Intense Gel Eyeliner

Trish McEvoy Gel Eyeliner
$28
I was cleaning out one of my makeup drawers the other day, when I stumbled across a nub of what was left of my Trish McEvoy Gel Eyeliner. I remembered liking it well enough and wrote about it in a previous post.

Curious, of course, I tried it again.  What is great about this eyeliner, is that it gives you a really dramatic eye, because it is so heavily pigmented.  Against type, I chose the dark navy, which would really play beautifully off any eye, but is a particularly nice enhancement for those of us who got stuck with brown eyes.

Why had I abandoned it?

Flash Back Friday: Pur Wine Exfoliating Mask

Pur Wine Exfoliating Mask
$29

Snow days do come in handy...I definitely have the tendency to procrastinate about tackling time consuming, boring chores, but once in mode, I'm a woman possessed.  Monday was the perfect day to tackle purging, cleaning and organizing both my linen closet/beauty goodie closet and vanity top and bottom.

Two letters sum it up...OY.

I always look for a silver lining, and I found it when I rediscovered Pur's Amazing Wine Exfoliating Mask.  As long as I was going to be down the beauty rabbit hole for a few hours, I figured I might as well multi task.

I applied this delicious mask and got busy... Just like the first time, I couldn't resist taking a tiny taste, yup, yummy.  I was sitting on my bathroom floor, sorting and scrubbing, so the image of me as Lucy Ricardo stomping grapes in a wine vat in Italy, was only in my head instead of the mirror.

I'm Ecstatic Over Fuller Brush's ExStatic Ionic Hairbrush

Fuller Brush ExStatic Ionic Hairbrush
$19.99

One of the perks of being a beauty blogger, is that  we get to attend events sponsored by PR firms promoting the beauty companies they represent. It's always nice to learn about the latest launch...even nicer to go home with a hefty swag bag.

I received the Fuller Brush ExStatic Ionic Hairbrush in an incredibly generous gift bag from Melissa Kelz PR, when I attended the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery conference in NYC this summer.  I only got to the bottom of it last week, when I found this hidden treasure.

Lesson learned--next time I'll dump it all out on the floor like Halloween candy...

Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen

Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pens
$22

Despite my love for all things maquillage, I have never mastered the deft handling of liquid eyeliner... I suspect I'm not alone. It's hard to say why.  My hand is reasonably steady and intellectually, I'm not challenged by the concept of gently holding my lid and lining close to my lashes.

Why then, do I always still end up looking like Sweet Baby Jane???
