Review: purminerals "Beautiful Creatures" Palette

puminerals Limited Edition "Beautiful Creatures" Palette
$100 Value for $39

This year, when I did my DivaDebbi's Best of Makeup for 2012 roundup, I purposely did not include eyeshadow, because despite my best efforts, nothing wowed me. I waffle between prestige brands and whatever catches my eye at CVS. Unfortunately, nothing caught my eyelids with any special effect, so I left them out.

For a few weeks, I even stopped using shadow.  Could I be the chick who just wears liner and mascara?  I was, but as a life long shadow wearer, my eyes lacked definition, so I went back to my so so collection.

When I received an email from one of my P.R. friends about purminerals Limited Edition"Beautiful Creatures" Palette, with a picture of 8 gorgeous, wearable shadows, I immediately asked if I could sample it. In addition, it also includes a rich charcoal liner and a pretty pink lip gloss. The Beautiful Creatures Limited Edition Palette is inspired by the film of the same name, which will be out in February.

Almost Pur-Fect

Back in August, I wrote about my second go round with Pur Minerals, after trying a preview of their new fall collection,  (Still Pur-Fect 8/11/10).  I was so enchanted with their 4 in 1 pressed mineral foundation,  face and eye primer, lip gloss, lip liner, bronzer and eyeshadow trio, that  I mused aloud  I could theoretically, be loyal to only PurMinerals.   Since I think of myself as notoriously fickle product hussy, I was surprised I ever gave voice to it....well, good thing I did, because PurMinerals sent me some other key items from  their basic collection to try.

Still Pur-fect

In October of last year, I blogged about an ingenious makeup called PurMinerals, that combines concealer, foundation, SPF 15 and face powder in one tidy compressed compact.  I don't know what's better, it's multi-tasking capabilities or the fact that it isn't sprinkled like fairy dust allover my bathroom.

Pur-fection

I am a late comer to mineral foundations. My early attempts made me look like a Geisha, well passed her prime... Not a good look. Trial and error, has taught me that it is far better to err on choosing a darker shade, than you might think you need.

The next hurdle to overcome is the mineral makeup mess. Since most mineral foundations are loose pigmented powders, it might not seep into your pores, but you may find traces of it everywhere else. Uggghhh!

When I had the opportunity to try Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup, I jumped at it. First of all, I adore multi-taskers. Pur is foundation, concealer, SPF 15 and powder, all in one. It provides flawless coverage, without appearing cakey or dry and it is tidy widy. Oh joy!

Today, I dropped it on my bathroom floor. So much for tidy widy, but to my delight, not only was it intact, but I discovered the bottom of the compact, opens separately to reveal a sponge and mirror. Was I spared the mess, only to be shackled with 7 years of bad luck???

Nope. Like I said Pur-fection. Find your starter kit for $35 at PurMinerals.

Luh-Ove it.

xox,
DD
