Happy New Year Lovelies!!! I trust you are reading this with your second cup of coffee in hand...
I wanted to start the New Year off right, with a review of one of the best longwearing lipsticks I've tried, L'Oreal's Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick. It aspires to 24 hr. wear, and I can attest that some definitely still exists on my lips, despite lots of champagne and air kisses last night.
What shocked me, was the hefty $29.99 price, which I didn't know until researching this blog. How is that possible, you ask? Easy...I purchased this while on a recent Target run, before seeing the movie Big Eyes the other day, (shared mall, good film.)
***Update- I saw L'Oreal Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick in CVS this weekend for $15.99. Still steep for a mass item, but better than the $29.99, I hopefully did not spend.
Something happens to me when I enter a Target store...Despite often having a specific need to fill, in this case, shaving gel for my son, I suddenly remember/discover another 20 or so items that I need to purchase The receipt is never pretty, but I'm not one to itemize and inspect.
But, I digress. Tweeded Rose called to me from the aisle. In fact, I thought it was merely a lip gloss. I had no idea it was a long wearing lipstick.
Over the years, I've tried at least a dozen. It's always a double edge sword; yes I like that my lips retain pigment through hours of wear, eating and drinking. No, I don't like that after a day of using them, my lips have the consistency of an elephant's hide.
The key ingredient that may hale the difference between L'Oreal Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick and it's brethren is the Hyaluronic Gel infused in the balm that goes over the lips in the second step. It truly does impart soothing moisture, and stays that way for quite some time...(their claim of 24 hours??? Not so much...)
The initial application has, "micro-fill fibers that smooths lip grooves for super even coverage and three dimensional coverage in just one stroke."...except it really does.
I think I'm in love....
So here is a great review to hopefully kick start a great year for all of us. Over the next few days, I will be crafting my DivaDebbi Best of 2014 List, so don't forget to check back to see all the best of my discoveries.
Thank you as always for your loyalty and support.
