Getting the Glycolic Glow (Continued)

As promised, a more scoop on my favorite products to get your glow going...

A few months back, I Blogged about the ability to purchase potent, glycolic acid for DIY peels at home, via the internet.  A client with amazing skin,  told me about it.  She now prefers doing them at home and is literally saving thousands  of  $$ each year, since she stopped visiting the Dermatologist every three weeks, to have this performed.
I did some research and came upon Terasita Skin Care on the web.  I contacted the President Alisa Dickson and she helped me decide which level peel,  30% or 50%, would be better for my skin.  What a fantastic product and what a fantastic price!  For $27.99, I received a 4 oz. Pre-Peel Solution, 1.25 oz. of 50% Glycolic Acid Peel, and a 4 oz.  Neutralizer for Glycolic Acid Peel.   I have used this almost every week for 6 mos. for about one minute.  After all this time, I am only halfway through the contents!  My interest is more in maintenance, than looking to experience a deeper, unsightly, shedding peel.  I couldn't be more delighted with the results.

I am also a fan of Peter Thomas Roth's Un-Wrinkle Pads.   With a juicy 20% infusion of glycolic acid, these pads are strong and effective...so strong that I always feel the need to wait for it to activate and then rinse with cold water.  Terasita also has a version called Glysa Clear Exfoliating Pads which contains both glycolic and salicylic acid.   It is less potent, (so no rinsing is required) and has a less potent price tag too, $17.99 for 70 pads.  I think they are a nice adjunct for the Glycolic Acid Peel.  If you don't imagine you will ever try an at home peel kit, than PTR U-P's, are surely your best bet, as a stand alone.

I have always been a fan of almost anything Anew that Avon produces.   As a matter of fact, until this moment, I forgot that Anew's Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel was actually my first love!  A fabulous glycolic treatment, I told anyone who would listen about it...it may be time to rekindle that relationship.    Anywho!  I received a sample of Anew Rejuvenate Glycolic Treatment ($30).   I love the sleek packaging and applicator, as well as the texture, smell and performance.  The only think I don't like, is that I have no clue how I should be using it!   If I owned a pair of readers, it wouldn't make a lick of difference.. hey, .if I owned a telescope it wouldn't  make a lick of difference either.   I went on the website, and not surprisingly read some glowing reviews, from satisfied women.   I guess I should be using it before bed, as 78% of women in clinical studies saw improvement overnight.  Maybe their package was written in Braille.

Anywho,  there you have it.  Cost conscious,  super effective products to restore or maintain your youthful glow, (plus Dr. Jeffrey Dover's Glycolic Cream Cleanser).  Of course all this glycolic acid requires a balance with some intensive moisture, but that's a whole other story---maybe next time.
