"An Evening with Oscar" and DivaDebbi's 2014 Red Carpet Report Card

As long as I can remember, I have always wished for a fabulous Oscar party to attend on the night of the Academy Awards.

Answered prayers, the founders of the Greenwich Film Institute hosted an "An Evening with Oscar" to benefit the Greenwich International Film Festival at the J.House Hotel in Riverside, Ct.

Moet & Chandon were the sponsors, so the champs flowed freely, the food was delicious and the E Cigarettes they passed out made my night... It was smashing.

The mood was festive, everyone looked chic and substantial money was raised to support this fabulous organization.  The idea of a film festival in Greenwich, a town with deep pockets that appreciates the arts, has been bandied about for a long time. Executive Director Wendy Stapleton Reyes and fellow founders are actually making it happen.

Kudos Ladies.  I hope this was the first annual...We would all be back, and more.

Now onto the Red Carpet and my loves and loathes...

For starters, while I missed a good deal of the show, I could see how relaxed and entertaining Ellen DeGeneres was.  No doubt, she's already sealed the gig for next year.

Friends told me it was the first time in recent memory they enjoyed watching every minute of it.  Ellen, Pharell, 'Adele Dazeem', Bette, well deserved winners and heartfelt speeches...could we hope for more???

No---but we got it any way, with some of the most beautiful dresses and least amount of fuglies I can remember on any awards show in recent history.

Metallics, blushes of pink and nude and a full spectrum of gorgeous blues from "Nairobi" to midnight navy ruled the night.
