Finale: IQ Derma's SmartLash week 4

Week 4:  IQ Derma SmartLash
***Please note readers:  As of this writing 3/11/14 I have been using Grande Lash MD.
Other than Latisse, I have found it to be far more effective than SmartLash. Click here to read more.

Yesterday marked one month mark, since I started using IQ Derma's SmartLash at my sister Loren's urging...sometimes we should listen to our Big Sisters.  This was one of them.
I have tried several OTC lash enhancers and of course, suffered through my Latisse trial.  I most definitely had enough of a clinical reaction; extreme redness and scratchiness, that I should have discontinued use, as they recommend...not DD.  I soldiered on because they looked spectacular.  Of course, once I stopped using it, all my pain and suffering ended up on a nightly cotton ball.  Oh well. Live and learn.

I'm extremely pleased with my SmartLash results.  I have increased growth in length and thickness, without any irritation.  I purchased mine for $29.99 as a continuing Dermstore  special, and locked into that price, opting for a 60 day renewal. (I seem to have plenty left, so I would recommend this over the 30 day option).  Here's a pictorial time line of my experience with SmartLash over the last month:

Week 1- two coats of They're Real Mascara

Week 2- One coat of mascara

Week 2- one coat of mascara

Week 3- I thought I was plateauing

Week 4- one coat of mascara

Week 4

Week 4

One of the other nice advantages is that I have also cut down to only one coat of Benefit's They're Real Mascara, which is a blessing.  I love it, but it's no picnic to remove.

So my lovelies, what do you think?  Can you see a difference?  I can!  I feel quite comfortable recommending you try it.

It's officially Big Sis approved...by both of us.

xox,
DD

  1. I previously used an eyebrow restoration product from online; the unfortunate predicament was that it was almost impossible to cancel the product. Obviously not consumer oriented, this company!

  2. Was it SmartLash? Im fairly confident that since this was done through www.Dermstore.com, that the auto delivery could be easily removed. I am so happy with my lashes I can't imagine stopping :). 60 days seems to be a perfect interval.

    Sorry you had a problem!

  3. Baby Oil is a fast & great way to remove eye makeup.

  4. Why not show pictures without mascara?

  5. I did show a pic without mascara in week 3. Sorry I didn't include it here. If you go back to week 3's update, you will see it.

    Thanks for weighing in!

  6. I use the 1000 hour eye lash dye instead of mascara. Love it! Never had a problem with irritation when I use it about every 5 weeks. Sure beats the mascara routine. Between that and this product my eyelashes look like I always have mascara on, but it never looks clumpy and doesn't run. Took about 5 weeks to see real noticeable length, but once it got there...WOW

    1. Does the 1000 hour lash dye work on growth too or just darken? How long does the color last? I hate mascara and have spent a small fortune on it trying to get some that does not clump! I don't care what the mfg says about their product, they all seem to clump. Some not as bad as others but still not what I am looking for. How does 1000 hour lash dye work?

    2. eyelash tint last 4-6 wks. It's same as hair coating. It washes out gradually.

  8. I think that speaks to why women read Beauty Blogs they trust. Im paying for my SmartLash. I have no vested interest in not sharing my experience, good, bad or indifferent.
I'm about 11 weeks in now and my lashes are looking as long and thick as they did at the height of my Latisse trials. Different things work differently on people. As I stated before, NeuLash, which did amazing things for my aunt and cousin did not work for me. Zero growth. Its all a bit of trial and error!
I will check out the SmartLash reviews. Thanks for posting.

    1. Do you have to use it forever? What happens when/if you discontinue using it?

  9. I kind of think you do! When I discontinued Latisse, they all broke off. Heartbreaking! I don't mind using the Smart Lash because it is a fraction of the price I paid for Latisse and it doesnt irritate my eyes. I do forget to use it twice a day, often, but I see no difference in my lashes. Hope this helps!

  10. When you stopped using Latisse you said they all broke off...did all your lashes break off?

    ReplyDelete
  11. No no!!! Just all of the new growth from the Latisse, all most like the ends of the lash, not the root, but I did lose a couple of those too.

  12. Thanks for that I'm gonna try this!

  13. Ok you convinced me. I have ordered it and anxiously await. I have very sensitive eyes and have just started with contacts. Do you wear contacts and did you have any issues with that?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would not describe my eyes as overly sensitive and I don't wear contacts. That said, I never had any discomfort with SmartLash, but with Latisse, I felt and looked like I had ground glass in my eyes. My lashes were amazing, but I had a definite reaction and truly should have discontinued using it (as directed). It was a foolish lark for vanity, but what else is new?

  15. I am eager to try smart lash, however I see that it's $125 at Dermstore. Where did you go d and lock in a price of $29.99??

  16. YIKES!!! Maybe they are no longer offering this!!! Here is a link to their toll free number 1-800-213-DERM (3376). I would call and ask. I'm going to call and see if my auto renewal is still locked in. Good luck!

  17. Did you use them on your lower lashes too? I absolutely love smartlash but did not see any results on my lower lashes at all. Mine are extremely sparse and blonde :(. While the smartlash worked great on my upper lashes and brows (yea!!!!) it did nothing for my lower lashes. Suggestions?

  18. I do use them on my lower lashes and they are quite thick and lush. I think I use more product now than I did when I started. I use one dip for each eye, morning and night.

I don't know if you saw my post on Almay I-Intense Mascara, but I am IN LOVE with it! I have finally found my Holy Grail drugstore mascara. You MUST try it.

  19. Just started using smartlash today. Fingers crossed it works! I had extreme lash extensions before an they were amazing, ppl complimented all the time, but my eyes would randomly burn all the time bad! I miss them though, not using mascara and having gorgeous lashes was awesome!
