It Takes a Village...

On Thursday night, I had the privilege of Co-Chairing The Making Dreams a Reality event to benefit the Ashikari Breast Center, with the esteemed Dr. Roy Ashikari.  They also, most kindly, made me their Honoree.  It was a spectacular night at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, N.Y. and because this is one of famed caterer Abigail Kirsch's establishments, the food was sublime...not a rubber chicken in sight.

Diva being Diva, I was naturally in uber high maintenance Princess mode. I will share my preparation antics in installments.  It was equal if not more  than my bridal prep...coincidentally, I was almost married at Tappan Hill.  It was before A.K. took it over and revamped it...Ma-Ma and I took one look at the silverware,  which looked like it shared dishwasher space with the local diner and turned on our heels. Now it is a truly elegant venue, perfect for any important celebration.

The timing couldn't have been better to receive an inquiry asking if I would be interested in trying Crest 3d White 2 Hour Express Whitestrips and Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Enamel Toothpaste  "Yes please...and can you FedEx it to me"?

Wherefore Art Thou Juliet?

I had the great pleasure of meeting Juliet Stewart this year, as a fellow committee member working on the 2nd Making Dreams a Reality Fundraiser, to benefit the Ashikari Breast Center.  I am greatly honored to be both the Chairperson and Honoree for this event, on April 7th, at Tappan Hill inTarrytown N.Y.  Juliet has been  a dedicated, creative, and tireless supporter. She has a quiet, elegant manner, in an Audrey Hepburn sort of way, but make no mistake...she is a powerhouse of quiet femininity. As the owner of  the Juliet Stewart Makeup Boutique and Studio in Nyack, New York and creator of her own unique perfume, Juliet, we both share a love for the beauty industry and for helping women look and feel their very best..

One Woman's Story

I would never wish a breast cancer diagnosis on anyone.  It is a life altering before and after fact, that forever changes the fabric of your life.  I have however, met amazing people through this journey; surgeons, survivors, "previvors" and scores of women who fund raise for organizations that I hold dear,  The Ashkikari Breast Center ,  The Breast Cancer Alliance of Greenwich and the internet support group that was my life line, Force.


It's been a lovely month!  I was asked  by Dr. Roy Ashkari,  to Chair the Ashikari Breast Center's April 2011 Gala.  Most kindly, I will also be their Honoree.  I was also asked by the President of the Breast Cancer Alliance, Margaret Sinclaire,  to be featured with my survivor's story.  Trust me when I tell you, there is no way to refuse either of these powerhouses!!!  Truly, I am grateful to them and honored to be asked.  Below is a copy of One Woman's Story: Debbi O'Shea, as it appears in their Summer 2010 Newsletter:
