The Fall 2017 Fashion Trends from NY and Paris

Mary Jane Denzer Partners Anastasia Cucinella and Debra O'Shea
at the Elie Saab Atelier in Paris for the Fall 2017 Collections
It was an absolute joy to attend Paris Fashion Week with my partner Anastasia Cucinella to buy for our store Mary Jane Denzer in White Plains, N.Y. Our vendors are excited for us and  have been fantastic partners, who are looking forward to growing with us. We truly appreciate their support and friendship.

We look forward to continuing to honor the DNA of Mary Jane Denzer; a luxury destination for special occasions, but we will also be spreading our wings! We have added several collections that will allow us to completely service all aspects of our clients lifestyle; so in addition to your Red Carpet moments, you will be able to find the perfect, "guest" dress, luncheon outfit, or casual but chic outfit to wear to a committee meeting.  We also found fresh and exciting accessories at the tents in Paris and look forward to receiving the fabulous scarves, jewelry and bags we purchased.

I promise to keep you posted on our trunk show schedule,  starting with Neil Bieff, our in-house designer, who will be at Mary Jane Denzer with his new collection through Saturday...stay tuned tomorrow for my interview with Neil, an enormous lasting talent, who has beautifully, dressed dozens of Hollywood and Music's biggest stars!!!

Now lets talk trends!

The term "Fashion Week" is truly a misnomer...Fashion Month is more accurate. What begins in New York, continues to London, Milan and finally Paris.
My fashion legs are pretty sturdy, but I can attest that New York and Paris were plenty to take in.  The other reality is when you arrive at the showrooms.  Of course the marvels that walked the runways are their too, but the reality is often in the trove of wearable, 'commercial' clothes, that most buyers actually buy, lined and with necklines built up beyond the navel.

Trends do emerge, and whether you are looking at high end evening wear or sportswear, they do resonate from show to show and continent to country. While it's still fresh in my mind, here's a bit of what we saw:

An American First Lady

An American First Lady

When ever their is a major event that involves fashion, Polyvore holds a contest to see what we fashionista's might dream up for stars of the Red Carpet.

All eyes will of course me on the First Lady tomorrow night, as she whisks among the 10 or so, Inaugural Balls that will be in full swing all over D.C. tomorrow night.

I was not a big fan of Mrs. Obama's style early on in her husband's Presidency.  Greatly influenced by her then stylist Ikram Goldman, the owner of Ultimo in Chicago, I thought Mrs. Obama made some egregious fashion choices.

I'm getting married in the morning--I think...

My Poly pals range in age from 13 to 64.  They hail from all over the globe.     Their talents are immense and I am hopelessly addicted to viewing their sets and creating my own.

It is such a wonderful creative outlet for me to exercise my artistic and styling skills as well as my imagination.  When I created this set tonight, it hadn't occurred to me that people really thought I was dressing for my rehearsal dinner and was contemplating being a run-away bride.

Such fun!!!

I encourage you check out Polyvore to see some beautiful fashion.  It is also an incredibly great shopping tool.  Looking for a bordeaux leather blazer?  Simply pop in the style, price and color of whatever you are looking for and  options from dozens of websites will pop up in seconds.

Genius...on many levels.

Emma lights up the night...

Red Carpet Fashion Awards)

I am absolutely crazy about Emma Stone's style. She has been on a recent European promo tour of "The Amazing Spider-Man". While some actresses show Red Carpet fatigue midway through most tours,
Emma showed no signs of abating her usual razzle dazzle.

I created the Polyvore above after being blown away by this particularly beautiful Bottega Veneta dress. I love the cut of the shoulders, the train, Emma's choice of a classic pump and her stunning up do a la Catherine Deneuve.

Divine!

Here are a few other looks from The Amazing Spider-Man tour.  I also quite love that she always looks at ease and is not afraid to mix up her hair and makeup styles:

In Gucci with smoldering lips

In Elie Saab adding the pop of orange at the waist and smooth locks

In Andrew Gn with a low side swept bun and coral lips

Classic LBD by Martin Grant

Enchanting in Jason Wu and I adore the shoe choice

It's official: She's my new Girl crush.

Daydreaming...

Daydreaming...

Those of you who know me from my youth knew I was either re-applying my lipstick, passing notes to my friends or daydreaming in class...particularly algebra and geometry.

Texting would have been heaven...
