Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask
Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask 4 Packettes $7.95 |
I normally think of Biore products as a quality, mass market product for the teen set, but three things appealed to me about their new charcoal infused masks, so I happily agreed to sample it:
- It's self warming...nowadays, I'll take some toasty anywhere I can find it
- It works in just one minute
- I'm overdue for a facial, and all of the creams I have been slathering on are starting to clog my pores.
Simply apply it with dry fingers, to clean damp skin. The charcoal mask is indeed charcoal, as in grey and it warms deliciously upon touch. Leave it on for a minute or so, rinse well and then surprise...

Review: Lorac POREfection Foundation
LORAC Pro To Go Palette $38 ($210 value) |
I use it daily and never travel without it. It's jam packed with value, since it includes 2 beautiful blushes, 2 brushes, a bronzer and 6 shadows; 3 matte and 3 with a hint of shimmer. I also multi-task with it and use it as eyeliner, to fill in my brows and as a highlighter.
Genius is understating it.
When I received an invitation to sample their new POREfection Foundation, that trumpets and exact match for your skin type, coloring and coverage preference, I leaped.

Review: Beauty Keeper Back Sleeper Pillow
$79.99 |
"Over time, the "sleep wrinkles" caused by crushing you face, won't disappear once your awake".
Dr. Julia Tzu Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology, NYU School of Medicine. Marie Claire, March 2014
My own sleep creases yesterday, without the Beauty Keeper Back Sleeper |
I believe you. That is why when I heard from the creator of the the Beauty Keeper Back Sleeper offering to send me one of their back sleeping pillow to write about, I gratefully accepted.
I'm a burrower, particularly on cold nights and a side sleeper and with all I do during waking hours to keep wrinkles at bay, it seems silly to undo it all while I sleep.
Here's the challenge; old habits die hard. I'm a week or two into my trial and I have only made it through the night once. On the plus side, my back and neck felt great and my chest and face were indeed creaseless.
I want to keep at it...I need to keep at it.
Here are some more details about the Beauty Keeper Back Sleeper:

We Have a Winner!
Congratulations to my lovely friend Lisa, who is a partner in Elizabeth Daniel NY, a company that manufactures fantastic cotton stretch blouses that fit and layer like a dream. (They also pack pack perfectly. I never travel without one or two.) On trend for Spring 2014, collared shirts are having a moment, so do check out their fab collection.
Lisa has won my giveaway of Trophy Skin Rejuvaderm MD at home microdermabrasion system! Winners were selected randomly from comments left on both my blogs DivaDebbi and Forever Forty Four, (sorry Sis. Six years in and your still empty handed. I was rooting for you though.)
It's such a fantastic product. Originally, I was sent their first system, which is larger, not portable and more expensive. I have used it weekly for nearly a year from head to toe, with fabulous results.
Their new product, Rejuvaderm MD, which Lisa has won, thanks to my generous friends at Trophy Skin is even better, with a diamond tip head for the body and a smaller one for areas like the eye and mouth. Nicely, it's also priced brilliantly at $199.
I recommend this to absolutely everyone, and at this more affordable price, I urge you to treat yourself to the number one tool in my anti-aging arsenal.
Congrats again Lisa, and thank you to all who participated. Maybe next time it will be you

An Original: London Fashion Week 2014
It doesn't matter a whit if this woman's ensemble, worn during London Fashion Week, was purchased at Top Shop or on Sloane Street.
The fact is, it is utterly original and charming.
Kudos, to women who have their own sense of style...

A Perfect Coat
Burberry pink dress / Burberry coat / H&M zip ankle boots, $50 / Dolce Gabbana studded purse / Boohoo tassel earrings /
I've always had a thing for coats...My husband no longer even mentions it when he spots me sporting a new one...I bought another one yesterday in fact, a creme brulee cashmere number, knee length and back belted. It looks like something Catherine Deneuve might have unhappily worn in La Belle du Jour.
Divine.
A good coat will does get an awful lot of wear...particularly if it's a winter one and it's this winter. I think they are fabulous investments...some people believe good shoes and a good handbag are the perfect foil for Top Shop and Zara finds. I'm not in disagreement, I just think a good coat is the icing.
Fashionista's have been sporting this fabulous Prada coat all over Europe, including Anna Dello Russo, editor-at-large for Vogue Japan. The woman in this set, wore it during Fall 2014 Fashion Week. Really, its the whole story...nothing under it is of consequence.
Burberry showed some wonderful coats in London Tuesday. I think the one I styled at right is a keeper.
Maybe it will even be mine. A Girl can dream, can't she???

Review: Physician's Formula Nude Wear Highlighter
Physician's Formula Touch of Glow List Price $12.95 Rip off Price at CVS in Greenwich, Ct. $14.95 |
Is this not the cutest packaging evah??? You can't tell from the picture, but the lower part is actually faux baby pink alligator. Adorbs!
I first became aware of this product during my daily read of Musings of a Muse, one of my favorite beauty blogs. Isabella, the Muse, reviews and writes up a prodigious amount of product each week. I bow to thee. I think she's terrific, and I highly recommend you subscribe to her blog as well.
I do prefer a liquid highlighter and my iconic YSL Touche Eclat has finally bid me adieu. Touch of Glow Nude Wear bills itself as a Concealer/Highlighter/TouchUp Tool. I wasn't looking to replace my concealer, but a highlighter and touch up tool appealed to me.
Touch of Glow only comes in one shade but the "reflecting pigments" it contains are all supposed to be in nude hues. Like Touche Eclat the applicator twists, until the product dispenses onto a small nylon brush:

Rejuvaderm Home Microdermabrasion Review and Giveaway Contest!!!
Trophy Skin's New, portable and less expensive at home Microdermabrasion system $199 |
And did I mention improved??? And that I'm giving one away??? Read on!
I first received a Trophy Skin MD Home Microdermabrasion System to try in March of 2013. I'm not a handy dandy Girl, by any stretch, so I was a bit concerned that I would either not be able to operate it, or would remove half my face...Unfounded on both counts.
It was easy to operate, left my skin glowing, diminished fine lines over time and me being me, lightened every freckle and age spot on my body, since I couldn't resist going south. LOVED LOVED LOVED it and still do. I have used it weekly since the day I received it with fantastic results. The only stumbling block for everyone I have raved about it to was the $300 cost. I also included it in my DivaDebbi Best of Skincare 2013 roundup. It's a winner.
Is it worth it? To me, unequivocally yes! We are wear our face and bodies every day. How many times a year do you wear that blouse, blazer or dress you picked up for just that price or more? As well, if you like the effect of microdermabrasion, one purchase handily covers 3 professional sessions, (which undoubtedly they will also recommend adding a facial or peel with; translation? beau coup bucks.)
So, who knew they could improve upon perfection, but yes, Trophy Skin did, by creating Rejuvaderm MD, a portable system, that also included additional tools, including a larger one for, (yay!), the body. In addition to the tool for blackhead extraction in the original, there is also a narrow diamond tip that is perfect for gently working around the eye and lip area and a tool to increase hydration with a serum after your treatment. (They sent me their own Argan Stem Cell Serum $39. Oh the glow!!! I am mad for it, though I have not yet gotten the hang of how best to use that particular tool. It is one I will definitely be buying on my own.)
Best of all it is completely packable an portable and they lowered the price by $100. So, here's the amazing part. My friends at Trophy Skin are letting me do a contest giveaway, by far, the best one I have ever had to offer my loyal DivaDebbi readers.
So how can you enter to win your own Rejuvaderm MD?

Last week I got a delicious surprise in my email; The Fashion and Beauty Blog 39Nineteen, invited me, as one of 15 bloggers, to enter a contest to be sent to Paris to during Fall Fashion Week in March, with editors Chris and Melanie, aka 39Nineteen.
Oh joie!!!
I have attended the NY Fashion Week for over 20 years, but Paris, is well, Paris!

Recognizing the sheer fun of chronically their fashion escapades, they started their fashion blog, knowing that the heart of a fashionista knows no chronological age and the best looks are often born mixing high and low fashion.
I'm with you Sista's...

Review: Philosophy Pink Almond Candy Lip Balm
Philosophy Pink Almond Candy Lip Balm $15 |
I have long been a devotee of Smith's Rosebud Salve, it is often the last thing to touch my lips at night, since I'm a bit of a night owl. It's always done a fine job of keeping my lips soft and my cuticles well groomed. There is something charming about the fact that it has been around for well over 100 years, no doubt doing the same for countless women, the world over.
It was one of those products that I would never consciously seek to replace, having attaining Holy Grail status long ago.
I often think I need horse blinders when I check out at Sephora, to keep me from doing any further damage than what's already in my bulging basket. I can't say I blame the marketing guru's at Sephora, really. It is their job to lead us to temptation. No better place to display impulse purchases, than the oft crowded check out queue, which they line with miniatures, gift sets and products to be had for under $20.
Truth be told, that's how I discovered Smith's Rosebud Salve in the first place...

Hello Gorgeous: Sensai Intensive Hair Mask
Sensai Intensive Hair Mask $57 7.0 oz |
Lately, I find myself slipping down the professional blowout rabbit hole, more and more frequently...It's not just that my stylist Lucas Magnum at Becker Salon in Greenwich gives me a fabulous blow out, he does, but that it always looks shinier and healthier than when I do it.
Why is that???
Partially, it's product, though I have all the good ones too. I like that fact that their shampoos are never rushed, and every client will sit for a few minutes with their freshly conditioned hair wrapped in a steaming towel for further absorption. Also of course technique, brushes (multiples often are wrapped and rolled while Lucas works on other sections) and the best blow dryers.
Still, I can't always have it blown but I need to achieve a better result than the puffy, dry hair I seem to be ending up with lately and for sure, I have been slacking on deep conditioning.
When I received information from my friends at Tractenberg PR about Sensai Intensive Hair Mask for extremely damaged hair, I wondered if that might be my ticket back to home hair care salvation and I promptly requested a sample.

How to Mend a Broken Heart: Alcohol
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Love is the Drug Blush |
When I was in London recently, I made a special trip to Selfridges to see Charlotte Tilbury's newly launched makeup collection. It was gorgeous. All of it.
I fell head of heels in love with her beautiful collection of 'Cheek to Chic' blushes and in particular, Love is the Drug. Since it is only available in the UK, I knew I had to pounce. Affirmation came, when I read in Temptalia's blog, that the one she ordered from Charlotte Tilbury's website arrived in a million little pieces.
Recently, I misplaced my Love is the Drug blush. I was in a blind panic. Now, you can imagine that I do have a back up or 10 in my makeup arsenal, yet nothing pleased me quite the same way.
I nearly wept today, when I discovered it had been misplaced in the back of my desk drawer. Sadly, I grabbed it a bit too enthusiastically and dropped it. Now mine was in a million little pieces.
Quelle horreur!
As I surveyed the damage, I remembered reading about a way to fix broken blushes and eye shadows.
