Hello Lovelies,
As we chart these uncharted times, first and foremost, I hope you and your family are well. I liken the Coronavirus to the Spanish Flu of 1918, 911 and the economic crisis of 2008 x 10 all rolled into one. It's a lot to process...
I know we will get to the other side, but it won't be without the loss of many lives and a very long haul back for businesses and normalcy, all over the world. I am utterly awed by the selflessness of our medical professionals, who are risking their own health, everyday to protect us. They are heroes, one and all. I am also grateful to all the "essential" workers who are manning the businesses that we need for food pharmacy needs, gas, deliveries and other services. Thank you! The National Guard has been called in as well, and their service is also hugely appreciated by myself and a grateful nation.
On a lighter note, my partner and I are working behind the scenes to manage our beautiful retail store Mary Jane Denzer at the Ritz Carlton in White Plains. In the beginning of the year, we launched our new website, which we feel represents our aesthetic perfectly. I invite you to take a peek!
Since I will have some extra time on my hands, I thought it would be great to go back to writing my blog DivaDebra, as we navigate life without professional manicures, color, blowouts, haircuts, facials, dermaplaning, spray tans, workouts Botox and all the other things that have become the norm in our beauty maintenance. I often joke that it, "takes a village" to keep us looking our best and the joke is, is that it's no joke...it really does!
And now we are on our own!!! I'm sure many of you have seen the cartoon below on social media and Sisters, it is, so!!!
So, most importantly, I want to share with you what I think is an incredible product, Revlon's ROOT ERASE I have used all the root touch up kits available in between monthly professional coloring, with the wonderfully talented Chantale, owner of Salon Chantale, and can tell you hands down, it's the best.
ROOT ERASE is pre-mixed and simple to use. It provides seamless, even color and is quite long lasting. I have not yet figured out if the one pictured above, which has a foam tip applicator is the original or an updated version. My first packages had a top, that acted as the mixing bowl, and a brush, that I used for application. I purchased one last box in Medium Brown at CVS in this iteration. My backup box, is coming via Amazon in Medium Ash Brown, with the foam tip applicator. If it's even better than my first experience, than Revlon deserves the Medal of Freedom. The formula, is a game changer. I do recommend keeping it on for a good 20 minutes if you have stubborn greys that don't cover quickly.
Additionally, there are 13 shades from light blonde to black, with burgundy and auburn tones included...literally, something for everyone. Personally, I don't recommend trying a full head of color, particularly if you hair is highlighted....You wouldn't attempt to remove your own brain tumor, would you??? Baby steps... Let's stick with roots for now.
A big shout out and hug to all of our hair guru's. When we get to the other side, your loyal, appreciative clients will be wrapped around the block, anxious to have our tresses cared for by your much more capable hands.
Love to all,
xo,
DD
