Avene High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50

Avene High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50
$36

It was a glorious 4th of July weekend in the East, fair skies, plenty of sun and low humidity. Over the busy weekend, I got to try out the newest thing, that I had to have STAT.  Thank goodness for Amazon Prime...you can barely blink and "it", whatever "it" is, is sitting on your doorstep.

J'adore.

I am a fan of Avene products.  I wish they were more readily available.  I was first introduced to Avene Cicalfate Cream, after having a Halo Peel, performed by Dr. Mark Schwartz.  It is a soothing balm that feels like something you could use on a babies bum.  I needed to purchase my third tube, so I started perusing Avene products on Amazon, (the complete line is also available at Drugstore.com, though you may find yourself paying more for it.)

I spotted Avene High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50 and was mightily impressed by the love fest reviewers felt for this product.  Interestingly, it was an absolute favorite of women athletes, from equestrians to race car drivers! Apparently it doesn't melt or budge and really does provide excellent sun protection.  Yippeee!  I should sail through my mat pilates class looking red carpet ready.

Naturally I had to try it.
What I was hoping for, was a tinted moisturizer, with some coverage and the additional benefit of SPF 50, since I tend to slack about daily use.
I was also hoping that the "honey" shade would luckily blend with my skin tone and create the perfect year round faux glow.

Unfortunately, Avene High Protection Tinted Compacts are only available in two shades; Beige and Honey.  The only complaints I found were those that loved the product but whose skin tones were not compatible. Requests for lighter shades were most frequently sited.

Moi, however, found her newest Holy Grail product, with "Honey" seamless providing a perfect tan, that hides imperfections. I read reviews by women who said they have used nothing else besides Avene High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50 for years and worry that one day it will be discontinued.

I felt my hoarder gene kicking in immediately...

For those of you who like the product details, here you go:

Protect even the most sensitive skin from the daily effects of UVA/UVB rays with Avene High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50. This paraben- and fragrance-free formula contains skin-nourishing vitamin E for potent antioxidant protection and Avene thermal spring water to soothe and soften the skin. Haute Protection won't irritate post-procedure or ultra-sensitive skin and is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic so you can maintain a healthy, glowing complexion.

I know this product is a bit off the beaten path  However,  if you are looking for an oil free, nourishing foundation, moisturizer, BB cream and sunscreen in one easy to transport product, (and could be a match for the the two shades offered), you too, may just find your next favorite cosmetic.

I know I did...

Hello Darling. Isn't is amazeballs? I'm going to order another one also. I feel that same tad of panic about their discontinuing. I can't believe how flawless my skin looks and best of all, TAN. All that with spf 50, what more could a Girl want?
