Review: Physician's Formula Super BB InstaReady Filter Trio Powder SPF 30

$14.99

Sometimes, I just try buy new products on a whim.  Physician's Formula has launched a new product line for the Selfie generation called #InstaReady.  Good get...if not them, CoverGirl or Maybelline would have gotten their first.

The product features, "InstaFilter Technology, " a proprietary blend of mattifying and pore balancing spherical beads, color filter pigments and high-tech polymers that work together to instantly optimize light reflection, blur imperfections and visibly retexturize skin, while protecting against UVA/UVB damage with SPF 30."

This multi-tasking Filter Trio BB Powder can also be used  as a contouring palette, to sculpt, define and highlight.

  • The trio has three shades:

  • #NudeFilter: Sheer, translucent finishing powder captures and diffuses light delivering a soft nude glow

  • #HealthyGlow: Blends warm and cool pigments that soften & diffuse light, instantly brightening complexion

  • #Sunset:
Universally flattering powder, blurs imperfections and enhances overall complexion with a subtle warmth.

  • Sunset, the deepest shade is perfect for contouring the cheekbones, jawline, sides of nose, and hairline. Nude Filter is gorgeous for highlighting brow bones, tops of cheekbones, chins and cupid bows.

  • Swirled together, and applied with a fluffy powder brush, I could see all their claims come to life.  "Blur" is my new best friend.  They SPF 30? A bonus.  Best of all, Super BB InstaReady Filter Trio Powder SPF 30, besides being a mouthful, is even more effective than two of my pricier purchases, Guerlain's Meteorite Powder and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder.

  • I liked it so well, I went back today and purchased the InstaReady BB Cream as well.  Good thing CVS in Westchester County is as ubiquitous as the requisite bank on every corner; I went to three in search of the deepest shade. It's not possible that they could only make InstaReady BB cream in Light and Light/Medium, is it?

  • Apparently, YES.  A bit short sighted donchathink?  It took my googling the website to confirm.  I'm concerned it may be a tad light, but the rave reviews caused me to take a chance (and hold onto my receipt.)

  • Until tomorrow...

    1. I've been enjoying reading these reviews since I stumbled upon your blog a couple of weeks ago. I've been dying to try this particular product. I applaud those talented enough to properly contour with multiple products but I don't think I'd be very good at that and so anything is simplified and smooshed into one product is a huge help for me. I'm a PF kick lately and I've got a coupon for any item at CVS so I may just have to pick this one up.

I can't believe they don't make dark--that seems insane of them.

    2. Thank you Redfoxinafield! Glad you are enjoying my blog :)
The powder trio can definitely be used to contour and highlight. It certainly is more subtle than the Laura Geller one I use. They also made a contour stick, which is even easier since it does not require brush work. You do have to bob and weave a bit while used it, except for that initial swipe under the cheekbone.
I decided to keep it to toss in my makeup bag for day to night quick fixes. Not sure you need both...
