Out of the Blue: Bliss Rubberizing Mask

I love masks.  No one in my house even raises an eyebrow if they see me perusing Facebook or dicing an onion in a Kabuki mask...just biz as usual... When Bliss emailed me about their new Fabulous Skin- Reviving Rubberizing Mask, with seaweed, bilberry and Vitamin C, I squealed with delight.  Rubberizing???  Yes please!!!

My box arrived equipped with 6 pre-mixed powdered masks, 6 wooden spatula, and a measuring cup for water. Igniting my inner chemist, I grabbed a metal bowl and got to work. I am a notorious directions skimmer., often leading to some dicey outcomes. I did catch the part about mixing it into a paste and applying it quickly, but missed the one about not disposing any remains down the sink. Ruh-roh!!! (I immediately had visions of a sweat soaked plumber, chisel in hand doing battle with my pipes, while I  feigned wide eyed innocence). It takes 15-20 minutes for the key elements--detoxifying seaweed and the powerful anti-oxidants to be absorbed into the skin while the mask hardens. Here's what I looked like in full blue regalia:

What I was really hoping, as I anxiously waited for it to dry, was that it would come off in one piece like a latex Halloween mask...no such luck.  This is actually my second try.  I was convinced that I did something wrong, because rather than rubber, it hardened more like a pinata.  There were a few spots that did "rubberize and whisked off cleanly.  The paper mache part...not so much.  What I decided to do, (besides putting a small  lined waste paper basket in my sink) was use a dry wash cloth to buff as much of the remaining mask off as possible, creating a bit of a microdermabrasion effect. I then rinsed any remaining residue.  Here's the really good part...my faintly pink from scrubbing skin looked amazing!!!  Even toned. Baby smooth. Poreless.

Fabulous Skin-Reviving Rubberizing Mask is Bliss Spa's most requested  facial upgrade and I can definitely see why. I would be much happier skipping off in my fluffy robe and leaving someone else to deal with the clean-up.  On the plus side, 6 masks (used weekly for best results) are only $38, a little over $6 each and a fraction of a facial or a microdermabrasion treatment, for a mask that delivers excellent results.

What will I say if I am offered another opportunity to sample a Bliss product?  "Yes, please"!!!  Me and my pipes, apparently, are game for anything...
