It Takes a Village...

On Thursday night, I had the privilege of Co-Chairing The Making Dreams a Reality event to benefit the Ashikari Breast Center, with the esteemed Dr. Roy Ashikari.  They also, most kindly, made me their Honoree.  It was a spectacular night at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, N.Y. and because this is one of famed caterer Abigail Kirsch's establishments, the food was sublime...not a rubber chicken in sight.

Diva being Diva, I was naturally in uber high maintenance Princess mode. I will share my preparation antics in installments.  It was equal if not more  than my bridal prep...coincidentally, I was almost married at Tappan Hill.  It was before A.K. took it over and revamped it...Ma-Ma and I took one look at the silverware,  which looked like it shared dishwasher space with the local diner and turned on our heels. Now it is a truly elegant venue, perfect for any important celebration.

The timing couldn't have been better to receive an inquiry asking if I would be interested in trying Crest 3d White 2 Hour Express Whitestrips and Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Enamel Toothpaste  "Yes please...and can you FedEx it to me"?
Nicely, they did and my package arrived on Wednesday April 6th, the day before my event.  The first thing I did was brush my teeth thoroughly with 3D White Advanced Vivid Toothpaste ($4.99).   If it measures up to all of its promises, this may be my new Holy Grail toothpaste.  Here's what it purports to do:
  • Strengthen and rebuild enamel
  • Remove up to 90% of surface stains in 14 days
  • Fights cavities and tartar buildup
  • Removes plaque
  • Cleans hard to reach places because it foams
All with a money back guarantee!    Here's my before picture:

Then I followed directions carefully and applied the Crest 3D White 2 Hour Express Whitestrips to my upper and lower teeth, making sure to note the time.  They wrap and seal around the teeth easily and stay put.  I still have my own custom molds that my Dentist made several years ago, but they tend to activate my gag reflex, which is never fun, so I don't use them nearly often enough.  I can bear anything for 2 hours and after the first few minutes, I was no longer conscious of them.  No gagging is a definite plus.

Two hours later  it was time for my big reveal and to my delight, they were noticeably whiter.  With continued use of the 3D toothpaste, twice daily, I have noticed an additional lifting of surface stains:

The best deal I found for Crest 3D White 2 Hour Express Whitestrips was online at RiteaidIt is described at a years worth of  Whitestrips for $49.99.  What I could not discern was how many of them was in that pack. 12? Hundreds?  I am a more is more kinda Girl when it comes to beauty, so I will be doubling whatever they recommend...good thing I will be building my enamel back up with 3D White Advanced Vivid Enamel Toothpaste.  Hopefully, it will all even out.  If not, I'll be all smiles anyway.

  1. Nice! I will try the toothpaste and maybe the strips.

Also Debbi I wanted to tell you, I saw Suzanne Sommers on ShopNBC 2 days ago, and she looks 'normal' now! She actually looks really good! Maybe the new stem cell face lift is freaky scary for a bit then the WOW factor sets in. She doesn't look tight or pulled, just a bit younger and very well rested.

Thanks for the update on SS. I am so relieved to hear that! It must be hard to be a public figure who is scrutinized.

  3. 'Just checked on Amazon (I have free 2-day shipping with AmazonPrime) and it is $32.99 for 4 kits, and also says "12-month supply"...so there you go. I'll check at CVS but this probably can't be beat - I can pick up the toothpaste while I'm there, tho.
Your description of your prep being "equal if not more than your bridal prep" really threw me back - we got married there during AK's reign, and it was truly spectacular and delicious. 'Gotta go get these strips to get ready for our 20th in June!
BTW, my take on the Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner and Serum: I think it's working...aside from really liking the liner, I think that my lashes and my brows are a bit thicker. Thanks for the suggestion! Now I'll have to go try many more of your selections.

  5. Hi! I love this Crest product too, but fair warning to readers: IF you have sensitive teeth be careful with this product. I wrote a personal review if you're interested. I have found using Sensodyne really helps alliviate the sensitivity. Best wishes for whiter teeth! :)

  6. Honey, it's physically impossible to build your enamel back up. When it's gone, it's gone. Don't overuse them, there's a reason why they recommend a certain amount of use per year.

    Some people...it baffles the mind...
