George and Amal Tie the Knot!!!

George and Amal Tie the Knot!!!

George and Amal Tie the Knot!!! by divadebbi

How fab... It wasn't really that George Clooney was a confirmed bachelor, it's simply that he never met the right woman, until Amal Alamuddin.

They married after just 5 months of dating in Venice this past weekend and no one can deny they looked gloriously relaxed and happy.

I am simply mad for her style. Above, she stunned in wide legged Stella McCartney pants and black banded crop top with a matching wide brimmed black trimmed hat.

Divine!

Charming!!!

How I loved that Amal chose and American designer for the honor of creating her dress.
Here at a final fitting with the venerable Oscar de la Renta

Amal is beautiful, brilliant and to my delight, a glamazon who has great personal style and wears clothes like a floating mannequin.  I'm going to enjoying watching her on the Red Carpet for years to come.

Well done George!!!

Oh, and you too Amal.  All the best...

I'm Ecstatic Over Fuller Brush's ExStatic Ionic Hairbrush

Fuller Brush ExStatic Ionic Hairbrush
$19.99

One of the perks of being a beauty blogger, is that  we get to attend events sponsored by PR firms promoting the beauty companies they represent. It's always nice to learn about the latest launch...even nicer to go home with a hefty swag bag.

I received the Fuller Brush ExStatic Ionic Hairbrush in an incredibly generous gift bag from Melissa Kelz PR, when I attended the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery conference in NYC this summer.  I only got to the bottom of it last week, when I found this hidden treasure.

Lesson learned--next time I'll dump it all out on the floor like Halloween candy...

Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen

Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pens
$22

Despite my love for all things maquillage, I have never mastered the deft handling of liquid eyeliner... I suspect I'm not alone. It's hard to say why.  My hand is reasonably steady and intellectually, I'm not challenged by the concept of gently holding my lid and lining close to my lashes.

Why then, do I always still end up looking like Sweet Baby Jane???

Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara; THIS is Life Changing

Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara
$29

OK Girls, deep breaths here, I'm about to report on a product that will require you to use 3 products and 4 applications of mascara. Too busy???  Can't be bothered???

Get over yourself... Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara is about to change your life.  I will never be without this product again.

I was contacted about this amazing product through my friends at Konnector. Konnector gives manufacturers the opportunity to reach out to beauty bloggers of their choosing to review their skincare and cosmetics.

Thank God they chose me...

Often I glaze when reading information, somehow, I'll figure it out when it arrives, but 3D Fiber Lash Mascara sounded like it may be vaguely tricky.  I'm glad I remained undeterred--it's a snap.

Pur Minerals Air Perfection Cushion Compact Foundation

Pur Minerals Air Perfection CC Foundation
(Light, Medium and Tan, pictured above)
 $30

I am a huge Pur Minerals makeup fan, so when my friends at Tractenberg PR asked if I wanted to sample their new Air Perfection Cushion Compact Foundation , I pounced.

Available in just 3 shades, light, medium and tan, I opted for tan, since I tend to fake bake year round.  When I opened the clever packaging, (that keeps the sponge applicator cleanly separated), I thought I might of erred. Even with it's spongy air infused texture, I still thought my face might read a bit praline... it turns out, my worries were unfounded.

Air Perfection Cushion Compact Foundation, is quite different from any formula I have ever tried. This portable, "lighter than air" foundation, utilizes, "an innovative liquid-dispensing cushion, that delivers high quality, sheer to medium coverage with a unique mousse-like texture".

Literally, I couldn't have said that better...

Infusium 23 Repair & Renew

Infusium Repair and Renew
Shampoo ($7.99) Conditioner ($7.99) and Leave-in Treatment($8.99)

Infusium 23 is a product that has been around for a loonnng. Originally, as I recall it, it was only a leave-in treatment.  I purchased it years ago, under the guise that a classic product might also be a great one, particularly since it is so well priced.

I remember being confused by the texture...it literally feels like water, which makes applying it a bit of a conundrum. What makes much more sense, would be to 'infuse' it, in a spray bottle.

Imagine my surprise when doing a little research, that it is also offered this way, which I always thought would make much more sense. Once I transferred the product into a mini spray bottle I now reap its nourishing benefits and use it on both wet and dry hair.

Bobbi Brown Italian Rose Creamy Lip Color; The Search is OVER

Bobbi Brown's Italian Rose Creamy Lip Color
$26
For as long as I can remember, I have purchased a new lipstick nearly every week. Sometimes they're class, sometimes they're mass...but it has all occurred expressively with one goal in mind; to find my HOLY GRAIL lipstick.

It has eluded me until now.  That's more years and more tubes than I care to tally. It required 4 separate shopping trips to find my new love, Bobbi Brown Italian Rose Lip Color.  My usual haunts, Sephora, Saks in Greenwich and Blue Mercury in Rye, were all sold out.  If Bloomingdale's was also going to disappoint me, I swear, the tester might 'accidentally' have ended up in my handbag.

So what is my idea of the "perfect lipstick"???

FC aka Catherine Kallon of Red Carpet Fashion Awards

FC aka Catherine Kallon of Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Giambattista Valli flower pattern dress, $4,060 / Giambattista Valli collarless coat
Jimmy Choo strap sandals, $625 / Anya Hindmarch leather purse

The absolutely divine Catherine Kallon,  creator of the uber successful website, Red Carpet Fashion Awards, was in NYC from London for Fashion Week.  Every day, she treated us to an assemblage of irresistibly chic street style. I adore this Giambattista  Valli coat and dress ensemble she wore the other day.

When I spotted it on her site, where I am a frequent visitor and commentor,  I told her I was inspired to create a Polyvore set to celebrate it. Not surprisingly, hundreds of images from her Red Carpet Fashion Awards are clipped by Polyvore users to incorporate into their fashion sets.  I think it's only fair to give her an homage!

Mr. Cool delighted his adoring lovelies, Iris Apfel and Carmen Dell 'Orifice in an exquisite Spring 2015 show, that predominantly featured black and white. No one does day and night chic, better than Ralph. Loved it!

Benefit Erase Paste

Benefit Erase Paste
3 shades $26

Usually, any seasonal change is a perfect excuse for me to refresh my cosmetics stash. The odd thing is, that the last two weeks in NY are finally feeling like the summers we are long accustomed to; high humidity, 90 degree temps and late day thunderstorms.  Still,  I'm nothing if not a creature of habit and the calendar does, after all say September.

Sephora beckoned...

I have stayed loyal to two concealers; Tarte Maracula Creaseless Concealer and Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer. These days, concealers are so highly pigmented, that a little goes a very long way.  I might not finish either of these tubes for another two years, but really, who wants to use a product that's as old as a full blown toddler?

Joan Alexandra Molinsky Rosenberg Rivers

Joan Rivers
1933- 2014

"She Had A Great Time"

Joan's wish for her tombstone...and boy, did she.

"Can we tawk???"  Because I bet you are feeling just as badly as I am, about the indomitable Joan River's unexpected passing. Somehow, it just felt like Joan's party was going to continue for a long time to come, and I'm so sorry she will no longer grace this earth, as we know it.

She was a pioneer. She was audacious. She was funny. She loved to work and make people laugh. She laughed at herself. She was brutally honest.  She was a glamazon. She was a wife. She was a mother. She was a grandmother. She was a loving friend.

Oh, and she also made, "Who are you wearing"the most important question ask and answered on the Red Carpet.

She will be long remembered and dearly missed.  Condolences to Melissa, Cooper, those who knew and loved her and all the rest of us.

Rest in Peace Joan. We had a great time too...

Dior and I at the Newport Film Festival

Two weeks ago, we were in Newport R.I.  I just love it there.  As someone who has had a lifelong attachment to the Hamptons, this picturesque, historic community, has me completely charmed.

Imagined how tickled I was to find out that Frederic Tcheng's latest documentary, Dior and I, was going to be screened outdoors at Doris Duke's famed "cottage" Rough Point.  This is my idea of a perfect night.

Who knew, that as an additional visual feast, the NewportFilm was hosting a, "Chicest Picnic" contest!  I was sure that someone would be snapping better photos than me and that I would be able to Google them later...I'm sure they are living large on someone's Instagram feed.

You will just have to trust me, that these Peeps went all out, lugging antiques, votives, spectacular flower arrangements, vintage bicycles and linens, enormous velvet tufts, china, porcelain vases, decanters and gorgeous pates and charcuterie.

Some were dressed femininely, no doubt with Dior' as inspiration...

It was a delight!
